Collaborations
I collaborate with some of the best organisations on creating and delivering global individual and team coaching assignments and other activities such as leadership, team coach, and commercial capability development.
At this stage of my professional journey, there are five organisations where I commit most of my time. I use the word professional, as it is also critical for me to spend time with my young family and pursue other interests such as property development and songwriting.
How did these collaborations come about?
Most started with a good coffee. When asked this question, I begin by saying that I remain open to every possibility, believing that any conversation could be the start of something great. In each of these collaborations, one person spotted something in me that they wanted to explore. Usually, discussions took place to test for a sense of common purpose and shared values. On reflection, in every instance, there was a test of sorts!! In most cases, this involved me being in a room for a day with one of the people below, either training, facilitating, speaking or team coaching.
How do you decide who to work with and when?
In short, the market mainly decides. The level of work with each tends to ebb and flow, based on demand and business circumstances. For any potential conflict of effort or interest, one value comes to mind – total transparency. I have open and honest conversations. If a prospective client approaches me, I ask myself who’s approach, experience, spirit, essence (whatever you want to call it) will best serve this client and their needs. If the answer is more than one of those I partner with, we have an open and honest conversation about jointly collaborating.
How do you find the time?
It’s a great question. I believe that twenty years of leading multiple teams while working in Kerry Group PLC prepared me for today. I also think that when you love your work, which I do, being busy is rarely an issue. As a professional coach, my supervisor helps me reflect on each of my collaborations and my balance in life. In recent years, the most challenging period from a time perspective was co-writing Building Top Performing Teams. Paradoxically, it was also the period of my life when I have felt most purposeful and fulfilled.
